The short version
- No accounts and no advertising.
- Tools marked In your browser process your files and text on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- A few tools need the internet to work: tools that check a live URL, and the 2 tools marked Processed online. Each is listed below with what it sends and where.
- We use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages and tools are used. It never receives your files or the text you enter.
- We don't sell personal data, and we don't keep what you check.
Tools that run in your browser
Image, PDF, text, code and design tools do their work with JavaScript and WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your device and the results are created on your device. They are never sent to Instant.tools or anyone else, and closing the tab discards them.
Some tools save a draft or your settings in your browser's local storage so they are still there next time. That data stays in your browser; clear it with the tool's reset button or your browser's site data settings.
Tools that check a live URL
When you give one of these tools a URL, it is sent to the Instant.tools API (instant.tools/api, running on Cloudflare Workers). The API fetches that public page, along with its robots.txt or sitemap where needed, identifying itself as InstantToolsBot, and returns it to your browser, where the analysis happens:
We don't store the URLs you check or the pages fetched. Your IP address is used briefly to limit each visitor to 30 requests a minute and isn't stored by us. The API only fetches public web addresses. Avoid URLs containing private tokens or passwords. Pasting content in instead of a URL keeps everything in your browser.
Tools processed online
These tools send your input to a third-party service, which handles it under its own privacy policy:
- URL to Screenshot sends the URL and screenshot settings to Microlink.
- Image Search sends your search terms to Wikimedia Commons.
No files you add to other tools are ever sent to these services.
Contact and suggestion forms
The contact and suggestion forms are delivered by FormBold. We receive what you type, including your name and email if you give them, and use it only to reply or consider your idea. Ask us to delete a message any time.
Analytics
To understand which pages and tools people use, the site loads Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics. It records things like the pages you visit and their address, how you arrived, your approximate location, and your device and browser, and it sets cookies to tell visits apart. Google processes this under its privacy policy. The files you add and the text you type into tools are never sent to it. You can block it with a content blocker or Google's opt-out add-on, and every tool keeps working.
Hosting and logs
The site and API are served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and may set a strictly necessary security cookie. We don't use advertising cookies.
Changes and contact
If a tool's data handling changes, this page and its label change with it, and the date above is updated. Questions? Email [email protected] or use the contact form. See also the Terms of Use.
